The Space Above

The Space Above is a yoga studio in the historic Ghent section of Norfolk. I met Lisa, one of the co-owners of the space through Crossfit VB. Adam (another crossfitter) is designing and building a new website for the studio and they asked me to take some pictures for use on the site. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot we had on Sunday. I'm pretty convinced that Gabrielle is made entirely of rubber bands, not of muscle, bone and tendon like the rest of us. Boycott Animal Circuses

Last night in the company of friends, I demonstrated against Ringling Brothers and animal circuses at the Norfolk Scope. Here are Beth, Nicole, Michelle and me freezing our butts off. PETA had a strong showing as usual. There were hundreds of people there protesting the circus. The Scope was pretty much surrounded! Adam got a little creative with his sign.  He and Casey brought their daughters out. Audrey was a big hit. I mean seriously, how cute is this? In all seriousness Continue Reading

The line to get into this thing was insane, and snaked around downtown Norfolk for over a mile. We Continue Reading

The Lizard Cafe

Edited 4/6/09: I am once again amending this review. I've been to the Lizard twice since the bad experience I had, and things have been wonderful there. I got the Mediterranean Sampler and the hummus wrap, and both were delicious. The waitress was very polite both times, and they now have a sign that explains the counter service vs. seating arrangement. The decor inside and they way they've remodeled the restaurant is very attractive. I'd like to up my review to three stars out of five, and  I'm Continue Reading
