Hey sorry about yesterday’s lack of fashiony goodness, I was/am kind of in a funk over the fact that I’m having to stop running again because I’ve developed full-on plantar fasciitis in my foot and running is really aggravating an injury to the knee in the same leg, and I’m tired of hobbling around everywhere. It doesn’t hurt while I run, mind you, only all the OTHER hours of the day.
Anyhow, it’s just making me angry. DO WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO, BODY. Ugh. Anyhow here are some pretty pictures to look at! (PS anyone know why the flickr toys thing doesn’t pick up some of the favorites - it left out two this time?)

first off, im very sorry about your foot and knee! thats gotta suck.
secondly, congrats on the engagement! im getting married at the end of next month, if you find anything cool soon you should totally post about it!!
thirdly, i bet the two images the flickr toy left out were friends/family only, and you happened to be on that persons friends list.
but this is just an opinion, i may be wrong. :)
i hope you feel better!
I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot and it can be very painful when I run or walk a lot. If I wear shoes with good arch support, that helps a TON. Also, my chiropractor said that it's related to a misalignment in my hip, which he has been working on. I have to say that since I started seeing a chiro, my foot has been 100x better. Also, rolling my foot on a frozen orange to break up scar tissue in the bottom of my foot used to help, but I don't do it anymore.
Feel better!
Maybe you could take up cycling! It's foot/knee friendly. I do hope you're able to heal quickly in any case =)
(I can't figure out how to reply to your comment! Ack!)
Anyway, I do have insurance and I get a discounted rate through my insurance, but it's not actually covered. I think I pay $30/visit and the regular cost is $40/visit. I only go now once every 6 weeks. Totally worth it!
Maybe I'll look into that.
ahhhhhh plantar fasciitis!! Try everything you can before you even think of surgery! My friend has it in both heels and had to get surgery in March, and shes still out of commision. One is healed and one is still very bad.
She froze waterbottles in the freezer and rolled her arch/heels on the floor on them at night before bed and they became alot better.
If it gets really bad, you may want to consider a steroid shot to help it heal.
I will try the water bottle thing, I'm definitely not trying to get surgery.
You always have such great Friday picks.

Hey Gimpy! (I can say that, because I'm one too.) I KNOW you have a great new kitchen/dining table and chairs, and I've been VERY patient waiting to see pix... how about while you're less-than-perfectly-mobile, you snap a couple shots and let us see how it all looks!? Those colors should really jump and jive together!!

hey Amber, I had the plantar fasciitis twice in my right foot and went thru the prednisone and anti-inflamatory routine, then tried a shot in the heel with a podiatrist that did not work....then got inserts...where you step into "space age stuff" and they make a set of inserts for your feet only that actually support the arch and make a very positive difference forever....mine were covered 70% by insurance and I have them in a pair of NB walking shoes...would never wear anything else. The shot still hurts and I would never consider surgery....but at least now I can walk.
On another note, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS is coming to Norfolk Sept.26 @ Scope Center. It is most amazing and well worth the pricey ticket. Check it out.
