Oh no, Kyla is hurt.

Well the vet lied. Or, well not lied, but now Kyla’s eye is NOT OK.

She has a corneal ulcer. Which is an abrasion on her cornea. The whole middle part of her eye is white. She’s keeping it shut. And according to the vet, she is in a lot of pain.

$82, new eye ointment, and pain medication is supposed to make her better. I’m sorry Kyla, I’m a bad mom. I didn’t mean to poke you.

Worst of all, I may not be able to go out of town this weekend to meet up with my friends as planned. I’m sorry you guys (Gen, I left you a voicemail). We will just have to see how she is Saturday morning.

Sniffle. My poor baby.

oh no! i hope she feels better soon and heals quickly. Piggy has had about a million of those and it ultimately made him go blind -- so I know how important it is to get your puppy treated and try to protect their eyes in general around the house. Best wishes to little Kyla!

Poor Kyla and poor YOU for feeling guilty. Hope her eye is better soon.

oh no. I'm sorry, poor baby. And you're not a bad mom, stuff like this happens. I hope she gets better. give her a big doggie hug for me.

Did you have to take her to a specialist? If it makes you feel any better, Roxy had a similar issue (from a rock, but still) and it cost us 400 dollars. The good news is that it healed just fine.
You're not a bad mother! Don't beat yourself up. The fact that you're so concerned is indicative of your good mom-dog-ness.

She'll be fine. Dogs are fairly resilient animals. As for the vet, well, they do that kind of stuff.

It's probably hard to be a vet, because it's not like the animal can talk to you and tell you what hurts.

She really needs a body massage and a spa day, now. You should make her wear diving goggles to protect her googly eyes.

yeah, that's what Mojo had. Set me back $300.

Do we get to see Kyla in a designer cone though?

Posted by: Kari on 19 October, 2006

Nope, she kept pulling it off, and I didn't want it to get hung up on anything while she was home alone, so I just took it off.

I'd say I'll put it back on later just to torment her but I feel guilty already. Sniffle.

Hug. You are not a bad doggy mom. Dogs play hard and rough. Kinda like my 2 year old. Accidents do happen. You're a great dog mom for getting her medical attention right away. She'll be right as rain in no time, I bet.

dont sweat it hon.

Aw, you're not a bad dog mom. Accidents happen, and she'll be fine in a few days with all your TLC.

Kyla needs some Doggles now! :)

I hope your doggy feels better soon! Our old dog, Mick, got attacked by a mountain lion once. Kyla will be fine, promise!

Oh no poor Kyla! Hope she's getting better soon!!

Awwwwww, I'm sorry to hear about Kyla's eye. Hopefully all the meds will clear things up for her. I'm sure this is hard on you both.

*hugs*

Poor Kyla baby. I cried when I discovered my cat was having gum problems because I felt so guilty for not noticing sooner.

Get better Kyla!
