31 July, 2006The Insider

Jimmy will probably kill me for posting these but too bad. The Insider played their first show Friday night at Club Relevant in Virginia Beach. It was a really good first show, they got a good response, especially for being the first band on. They covered Firestorm and people beat each other with pool noodles. It was pretty hilarious.

(He’s really not as scary as he looks haha.) This was the first time I’d really heard the band and I liked it. Some of their songs had a heavy Snapcase vibe, and that is A-OK with me.

The rest of the show was pretty lame. Suffocate Faster wasn’t awful but I was ready to go by the time they went on. Three Earth Crisis covers in one night, now THAT is outta control. Another band covered Firestorm as well even though they knew Jimmy’s band already played it, and another band covered Gomorrah’s Season Ends (I don’t know if that’s right, it’s the “I am straight edge” song hah).
Also I found out where all the straight edge kids went, they all went metalcore apparently. Anyway go check out The Insider’s myspace page, Jimmy should be posting a video soon. I hope they play out again soon, I am looking forward to seeing this band develop.
