05 July, 2006Check these out.
After much deliberation and many emails, I have decided on an artist for my chestpiece. Her name is Ashley Love and she lives and works in Winston-Salem, NC. Here is some of her work. Her use of color makes my head swim. More of her work can be found at her tattoo livejournal.
I can’t get over the colors on those two sugar skulls. Agh, the blue-grays and that olive green with pink! Brilliant. I can’t wait to see what she draws for me.

Okay, so I will never get a tattoo. It's a totally personal thing, I'm just not into them. HOWEVER if I ever DID get one I would jump on Ashley Love's bandwagon in a SECOND. Heck, I'd love to just buy some prints from her to hang on my wall! Gorgeous!
Nice choice -- I think you're going to be really happy :)
Oh, I love those. I'm going to friend that journal - I love it. And I'll probably try to use her... you know... when I get the courage to actually get a tattoo...
those are beautiful.
I have been reading Ashley's LJ for sometime now and love her work. Nice choice.
Wow. Just...wow. I think I would go to NC just to get a tattoo done by her. (And I'm in Illinois!) Her style reflects what I want to see in my next tat. PLEASE keep us posted.
those are sooo beautiful! jealous! :)
Indecision lyrics are a good tattoo choice... haha.
Woohoo! North Carolina! :D
Like a lot of people here....I would drive to NC to have something THAT beatiful inked on my body.
Wow, those are great. And you're right about the colors. I'm excited to see what she'll draw for you!
I love the tatts-- I believe this person has worked on a couple of my NC friends. Thanks for including the LJ link.
On an unrelated note: we already have a dachs/lab mix (Roxy) who's nearly five. Our neighbors have offered us a five-month-old male Boston who's in need of rescue b/c of an abusive home. I'm the type of person who likes to read up on any given situation (I think you are, too), and I wondered if you might suggest websites/books that you think are particularly helpfuly to potential Boston parents. We're going to arrange a doggy meeting and such, but I like to be prepared.
Thanks!

Check out http://www.woofboard.com! It is a great community of boston terrier owners, many are involved with rescue and fostering. Sign up and ask any question, they definitely helped me out when I first got Kyla!
BANANAS over the sugar skulls! Great work.
