I'm really glad that she pulled her pictures from public view, but I did notice in her profile page that there is a public Flickr group called "Large People of the World" with 35 members and 56 photos just like hers .. http://www.flickr.com/groups/85805826@N00/

Ahh, yeah she made them private. That group still shows her as the "top contributor."

Good riddance. I made a lengthy comment on the set that was summarily removed, and I sent a rational, polite e-mail to the vintage car enthusiasts group that she volunteers for suggesting that public association with that type of person threw their legitimacy and professionalism into question.

Thanks for stopping by my place, Amber! And thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. Flickr is one of my favorite things in the world, and I know there's a lot of unsavory crap that goes on there, but that shit was just out of control.

My hope is that, at the very least, she was ashamed of herself. After all, that was what she'd like to invoke in anyone who doesn't fit her idea of beauty (just as her husband REALLY doesn't fit mine). SHAME.

Out of curiosity does anyone know if she is European? I ask because one of my friends is from Germany and her brother and his girlfriend came to visit her in Texas.

At one point as they were sitting on my couch they were giggling madly as they viewed a photo on their digital camera. I just looked at them with a smile and was curious what they were viewing. They let me see and it was a picture of a lady who was obese, sitting in one of those electric carts at Wal-Mart. I couldn't believe that they had taken this poor woman's picture and were using it solely to amuse themselves. I didn't know what to say so I remained speechless.

They are so intrigued and entertained by "big" people in the U.S. and at the same time they are thoroughly disgusted by it. I guess in East Germany it is a very rare sight to see an obese person.

They constantly remarked on the portion sizes that they were served in restaurants, as well. They couldn't believe the waste of food and how it appeared Americans were constantly obsessed with food.

I had to bite my tongue a lot around them because I realized because of their different culture that their perception was very different than mine.

What's y'all's thoughts on this?

That lady has every right to post those photos and your personal attacks on her and contacting her clients (what are you thinking!?) is way worse than anything she did. Americans ARE huge, that is what people in other countries say about us (besides being rude and loud, like you are being. Even if you have come to terms with being fat, you surely know how unhealthy it is.
