Flint Ridge Farm is a beautiful, fifth-generation family farm in Hayfield, Virginia. The land has been in the family since 1897. They’re about a 15-minute drive up the road from us. We’d admired their gorgeous property each time we drove by, and then I made the connection that the eggs I was buying from the local market and this farm were one in the same. I gave the owner a call and he said I could come out and check out their setup.
Flint Ridge is in the pastured egg business. They have about 300 chickens in several different portable coops. They also have turkeys, New Zealand white rabbits, free range beef, ducks, a garden.
It was a gorgeous little slice of Virginia, and I loved spending time there with the animals.
We’ll be getting our chickens next week (!) and I’m happy to have a nearby neighbor I can call on if I have questions. If you’re in northern Virginia, check out Flint Ridge Farm.
