Is it really possible that I haven’t posted here since July? Well, hello there, if anyone is still tuned to this channel.
I got an email the other day from my domain registrar letting me know that My Aim Is True.com is up for renewal at the end of the month. I thought a lot about it and I have decided not to renew the domain name. I’ve had it for over ten years! But I do think it’s time to let go of this blog, at least for now.
Blogging has been fun and interesting and weird, and the internet has seen me fumble through many stages of my late adolescent and early adult life. But taking this break has been great. I have let go of a lot of responsibilities and am learning to just experience things and live my life and let that be enough. Instead of considering at every event “how will this look to others” I’m thinking, “how does this feel to me, right now?”
Jimmy and I took a wonderful camping trip for Labor Day weekend. We visited gorgeous places like this.
And this.
And this.
It was a wonderful getaway – just us, the woods and no flat iron or makeup for three whole nights (gasp)! I thought you’d like to see those pictures before I wave goodbye. There are more on my Flickr account, and I will continue to post there (click any of the pictures to visit my photostream). I will export these entries, and maybe the blog will be resurrected in some form or other one of these days.
So until then, goodbye for now. Take good care.
If anyone wants to reach me, please send me an email at my new, improved gmail address.

If you let it go, it’s going to get snatched up and become a link farm. You’ll never get it back. That’s why I now have a .us domain, rather than a .com.
Better to lovingly let go than to hold on and choke what little life is left if your heart has gone out of it. I don’t know anyone who’s been blogging for more than 5 years so I think you’ve earnt a break as well as an Olympic blogging Gold

I’m sad to see you go, but I understand. I’ve loved reading your blog for the last couple of years I guess (3 maybe? Wow!) and I wish you all sorts of happy.
Aw lady, I am gonna miss this! I have been reading your blog way long before we became e-pals. But I understand that you’ve got to let go sometimes and maybe hopefully start fresh one day. We need to catch up soon! I hope all is well. <3
I’ve never left a comment, because…I guess I always feel kind of creepy commenting on people I don’t know. But I’ve been reading your blog for years, now (I found it through fatshionista on LJ, “Fat Fashion Thursdays”), and it’s really made a positive influence on my life. Apart from keeping me entertained, you’ve inspired me to take up running (something I -never- thought a heavier girl could/should do), eat more natural food/visit farmer’s markets, and to get more involved in knitting/craft. You just make everything seem so doable and exciting. I guess…I wanted to thank you, and to let you know that you have affected people in a positive way, even though you may not have realised it.
Anyhow – I follow you on Twitter, and I’ll be watching your Flickr for cool photos/updates. I’ll look forward to any future blogs/etc that you produce!
Good luck and fare ye well. I’ve enjoyed the peek into your life for the past few years. I wish you well on all of your future endeavors!
I really liked reading your blog the last few years and will miss the news. Now I subscribed to your flickr photostream and so I can go on enjoying your lovely photos.
In my first comment I completely forgot to mention that I of course especially miss your “Thursday Flickr Favorites”
Aw, I’m really going to miss this! however, I’m glad that you’ve been enjoying life so much
That’s much more important!!
Farewell! Have fun!
We’ll miss you! Best wishes.
I’ll miss reading about your adventures, but wish you the best of luck in all you do. You have really inspired me. Thank you!
Aww, man! I’m so sad. But it sounds like you’re busy living your life, so I’m happy for you. I’m definitely following you on Flickr because you’re my A+, Number One, Go-To for inspiration. Take care – you’ll be missed.
I’ll miss reading your blog, but I understand. Best of luck!
Best Wishes!
